Peter rides the school bus to school now two days a week.  It is all kind of funny to me considering we live 4 blocks from school but he LOVES riding the bus!  It actually takes him longer to get to school on the bus than it does to walk to school.  But oh well.  I have a couple of things to say about that.  When I was a kid I was one of those kids that knew that the small bus brought to school the kids with disabilities.  I never thought I would be putting one of my own kids on one of those buses (just being honest).  But now that I am I have to say I am brought to tears sometimes watching how happy the bus drivers are and how sweet everyone that works with the kids on the bus are!  Look at the smile on Peter’s bus drivers face does it touch you or what?  These are the small things that the disability gives you to appreciate!  The small school bus is not something to make fun of or think of as kids that are strange or somehow different from the rest of us but it is personal and holds kids that are loved just like the other buses do.   Watch for the small buses and think in your head when you see them that they carry lives that are called to work a little harder than some of us and if you think of it pray for those lives...  Just a small thing we all can do...
