Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a fan of heat.  So needless to say this summer heat is killing me!!  Just when you don’t think you can get hotter.

So I was thinking today as I was working out (trying to remember why I ever stepped a foot into the step class I was in) why when you have a smaller brain (like a dog) you don’t seem to make excuses for exercise and when you have a larger brain you do? Shouldn’t it be flipped?  Aren’t we suppose to know how great exercise is for us so all you want to do is exercise?  If I even say the word “walk” around my dog he looks for his leash himself.  Why is that?  He will literally pull himself out of a deep lovely sleep just at the word, “walk”...  Strange I know.

Anyway, I like this picture because it reminds me of all the walking we do in life and how to never take it for anything but a blessing.  As a mom of a kid that does not walk on his own I look at those foot steps on the beach and I know my kid will probably not make his own foot prints on the beach in his life time.  At least not like I will.  So to remember every step that is taken in life is truly a gift makes exercising a little easier to think about.  When things come easy such as walking you tend to take it for granted that it will always be there.  But nothing is promised and so to think of every last step as something special might make the journey a little more interesting.  Making you own footsteps is truly something to be thankful for!!  Make your footprints count for something!!!  Happy summer days....
